Spring in Hawaii Waimea

Dear Hawaii visitors,
We are once again delighted to post one of those 'real life in Hawaii' articles for all those who have Hawaii in their hearts and dreams and would like to know what it is like to live in Hawaii, beyond a 2-week vacation.

Our dear long time friend Bill Jardine from Big Island Buyer Brokers, contributed with another of his wonderful articles about Hawaii. 'Spring in Hawaii Waimea' is written with his soul and heart for the Hawaiian Islands. And maybe some of you might even reconsider their travel dates for their Hawaii vacation. A spring vacation in May in Hawaii seems pretty tempting after reading this post.

Spring in Hawaii Waimea by Bill

"Spring in Waimea is an experience for all of our senses. The sweet Spring air still carries the sparkle of April showers, and the sky is now an even deeper blue. Waimea is just as picture perfect as you can imagine. May comes in the front gate, and April slips out through the back, dragging her sprinkler behind.

May brings flowers … plain and simple. Just the thought of the hedges, trees and bushes in bloom is enough to set the tone for the whole month. Then, just as we get near the end of the month, school let’s out, and everyone goes on vacation! It is pretty hard to think of anything negative about May!

The Jacaranda flowers now scatter across the lawns and sprinkle themselves on dark asphalt paving as blades of early summer light pour down between the flocks of cotton-ball clouds jostling above the pasture lands, where cows and calves fatten on the bounty of the early rains.

This is the time of year when we hear the deep voices of the cows calling for their calves at dusk, and flocks of warbling silverbills wheel and rush across the darkening sky on their way to their roosts in the Formosan koa trees. Puuanahulu is strutting around in vivid oranges and purples as the Silver Oak, Pride of India and Jacaranda trees all compete for your attention. It is a great time to dust off your camera and take some pictures!..."

So how did you like Bill's 'Spring in Hawaii' article and what is your take on a Spring vacation in Hawaii? We'd like to hear from you. Mahalo and aloha, Pua Kohala Coast Vacation
